Filippos Fragkogiannis is a graphic designer and art director based in Athens, working as a freelancer since April 2019. His projects center around visual identity, posters, advertising, and digital content, and he regularly enhances type foundries with bold imagery. Filippos' research-based approach is rooted in semiotics, symbolism and the mechanics of visual language.
In 2018, he founded Certain Magazine, an independent curatorial platform that chronicles contemporary graphic design and celebrates handpicked design projects from around the world.
In addition, he has been selected as an Awwwards Jury Member for 2023. His attraction to visual communication has also been expressed through his long-standing involvement with photography, content curation, and graffiti.
Filippos Fragkogiannis' design approach could be described as sharp, transparent, and plain-spoken. He aims for the outcome to be direct and honest, serving its purpose and getting the message across in a straightforward manner.
He is all for simple, truthful, and type-centered design. He develops a creative methodology that moves from research and accumulation to condensation and abstraction. In our saturated times, his intention is to communicate messages that speak a universal language and appeal to a wider audience.
