Filippos Fragkogiannis is a Greek graphic designer and art director based in Athens, working as a freelancer since 16 April 2019. His design services include art direction, branding, poster design, advertising, social media and digital content creation.
His attraction to visual arts and communication has also been expressed through his long-standing involvement with photography, content curation and graffiti. In early 2023, he was was appointed as an Awwwards Jury Member.
Filippos holds a Master of Arts in Visual Communication and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Graphic Design from Vakalo Art & Design College in partnership with the University of Derby.
He has collaborated with esteemed brands including AkzoNobel, RIMOWA, Warped Cigars, Li-LA-LO and Döhle Assekuranzkontor.
Filippos Fragkogiannis takes a research-based approach to his graphic design practice, exploring semiotics, symbolism and the mechanics of visual language. This approach could be described as sharp, transparent and plain-spoken.
He aims for the outcome to be direct and honest, serving its purpose and getting the message across in a straightforward manner. He is all for simple, truthful and type-centered design.
Inspired by the International Typographic Style, Filippos develops a creative methodology that moves from research and accumulation to condensation and abstraction. In our saturated times, his intention is to communicate messages that speak a universal language and appeal to a wider audience.
In July 2018, Filippos Fragkogiannis founded Certain Magazine, an independent curatorial platform that chronicles contemporary graphic design and celebrates handpicked design projects from around the world.
Since then, it has grown considerably and, at times, significantly expanded, with thousands of followers dedicated to creativity and visual communication.
